Picture Perfect Styles (IreneTheDream) Holiday Onesies Review


If you have read my Fashion Nova - Innovators or Theives post then you know I hate to see a marginalized brand be ripped off. So naturally when I saw Irene The Dream in these onsies you already know I had to have atleast one in my closet! I checked out her website, Picture Perfect Styles, and started to narrow down which ONE I was going to get. Like all my online shopping experiences I make sure to read reviews. More than one person had commented how buying these onesies from her site was a ripoff when you could find the same ones on walmart.com. I have to assume that the onesies were on sale at walmart first since people coming to her site (released 2017 holiday season) knew where to find them already. In this case, it looks like another reality star buying ready made items to resell them at outrageous prices.


I opted to buy the one from walmart for nearly 75% less than whats asked on PPS and I am more than happy. Quality was NOT lacking and it fit great! I have linked the onesies below so that you may compare for yourself. Happy shopping!

Fashion Nova - Innovators or Thieves?


The fashion industry is obsessed with blackness but often doesn't put credit where it's due. For decades, as runways flooded with designers whose creativity depends on appropriating black culture, the glaring erasure of actual black people became more obvious. Cardi B, Amber Rose, Blac Chyna, Kylie Jenner and Cassie are just some of the celebrities who’ve helped make Fashion Nova one of the most visible clothing brands on the Internet. But has the company been creating affordable and trendy fashion for the masses or selling cheap knockoffs?

Jai Nice, who’s a designer and owner of the online store Kloset Envy, told her 1.4 million Instagram followers about it. She accused Fashion Nova of buying one of her hoodies, ripping off the design and material, then sending it back for a refund. Nice also posted a video of herself opening the returned package, shipped from the FN shipping department, and blasted the company as well as it’s founder Richard Saghian.

 

“Stop stealing from the African-American community @fashionnova,” wrote Nice. “Richard, idgaf how much y’all paying people to promo y’all cheap ass shit. Did you forget y’all just had one of the managers buy from @klosetenvy under another name just to get the sample, to remake it. Y’all to cheap to add the hood on it. SMFH" “Then y’all got sloppy and returned it back from the shipping department,” she added. “The f–kin’ nerve to buy and return. I’m not refunding shit. I’m sending it right back to y’all. Since y’all wanna play, I’m gonna post y’all employee whole name and address y’all bought it under … This ain’t the first or the last time that he think it’s cools to keep f–kin’ with the community.” Nice then posted a photo of the hoodie that she accused Fashion Nova and others of stealing and called Saghian a culture vulture. She also accused the brand of trying to shut down other companies for personal reasons.


“Don’t come talking no sh–,” she wrote. “This was designed last year October before anyone had it. No one started making this hoodie until I released it, let’s get that straight. This took four samples to get it right for the perfect fit and to make sure the sleeve stay puffy.”


“@Fashionnova you make enough money, you culture vulture,” added Nice. “You need to stop before I start dropping the real tea how you telling manufacturers to not work with certain companies because you don’t like them, and how you wanna put other companies outta business. Stop f–king with the Black community. You ain’t gonna keep getting away with this sh–.”

Fashion Nova clapped back with this subliminal;

You can compare Kloset Envy’s cropped hoodie ($70) and the Fashion Nova version ($60) and judge for yourself. 

Apparently Fashion Nova steals everybody’s designs. From David Korma to House of CB. So much of fashion is to take high fashion designs and make it affordable to the masses, so I wasn't so surprised to find fashion nova making like designs at a more affordable price. It was a bit disturbing they would order from another designer to steal their design however it wasn't shocking. Until I decided to order a dress I hadn't seen elsewhere! 


I ordered the Nice For What Set in Black as well as the Manifest Wedges from Lola Shoetique. 

I couldn't wait to get this in the mail since everyone has hopped on the fashion nova train only to be scrolling through IG and BOOM, there it is, from Fashion Nova.



When I tell you this time I WAS SHOCKED, believe it because I couldn't! Now I love finding the deals and steals but at what cost? Could you support a ripoff??

@MissLola #LolaBabe (Lola Shoetique) Review


Ladies and Gents, I have to announce, I AM IN LOVE... Not just with my man! Being the skeptic that I am with my experience ordering online, I was nervous to try this brand. Everything seemed sooo cute but I was most concerned about the quality of the product. Then one day, I saw an outfit pictured on #lolaootd instagram and HAD TO HAVE IT! I decided that I would go home and do some research (like I always do with online shopping). I love watching Carli Bybel’s videos on youtube and found out that she did a review on some Lola Shoetique products.

All signs were pointing to me finally making my own purchase at Lola Shoetique (my inner girly girl screamed FINALLY, YES)! So that night, I went online and bought both the outfit I wanted and some shoes to match!

The online reviews from this seller can very. Many people seem to have amazing service in the area, especially when they can just drop by to pick up their orders however it seems people who have ordered online have experienced many problems. I experienced ZERO problems! I adore this brand and intend on ordering more from them. I loved that they had promos comparable to other big fashion brand names out right now! The quality was ah ma zinggg, the shipping was fast, the ordering was easy and for the price!? It was a steal! You can check them out at their website, misslola.com or their facebook and instagram.

SIMMI SHOES REVIEW - US Buyer



I love shoes as much as the next girl, but I'll admit I am picky when it comes to where I buy them from. I’ve purchased shoes in the past from reputable retailers in the mall that practically fall apart after a few wears, and similarly, I’ve ordered shoes online that are so badly made that they leave your feet with aches and pains you didn't know were possible. In other words, shoe shopping is serious business in my eyes. When I am paying my hard earned money for a good I expect what is advertised to me as a consumer. Once again the photo of instagram had caught my eye with the latestest trending blinged out slides! Simmi Shoes is an online retailer based out of the UK with all the latest styles and fashions, affordable price tags (most pairs are under $40) and most importantly, great quality. With an array of boots, sandals, wedges and heels, you certainly are not left wanting on the simmi site!


I was lucky enough to snag the Sophia Black Diamante Sliders! They arrived within two weeks of ordering and were beautys right out of the box! The site does say they are "true to size" however I would like more room in them and feel as though they do run a little small or snug. Considering the low price tag (£20 = $25.51) they really are a steal! Perfect paired with a simple black dress, jumpsuit, athletic wear, or even faux leather and everyone including you would think they were worth a pretty penny, but would could blame you! These gorgeous slides come in 6 more colors making the decision to finally buy a pair rather difficult!

EGO Shoes Take 2 - @EGOOFFICIAL Review


If you haven't seen my first review of @EGOOfficial, it's a must read before you continue on with this review... find it HERE. Recently I found the company EGO, while perusing popular instagram accounts. After seeing the new perspex trend, I knew I HAD to have them! However after my first purchase I was reluctant. Not only did I have problems with shipping and customer service, but the shoes themselves are extremely hard to walk in. I wanted to give it another shot so I ordered a pair I thought would be easier to walk in. I chose the Tasha Perspex Clear Ankle Boot, can you say "Hello gorgeous!"


I placed my order the same way on the same day as my first purchase, to give a fair comparison. They were having a sale of 20% off that day so I got an even bigger discount than the normal new subscriber discount of 15% that pops up when you first enter the site. I would like to note, when dealing with customer service before they had used the excuse that my order was actually a pre-order, so I included this confirmation that shows the shoe I order IS available and in stock. I also added a screenshot of the estimated delivery date when I was checking out.

EGO Shoes - @EGOOFFICIAL Review


One benefit of being a millennial is that I am constantly "plugged in". I find myself, like many others, constantly looking for new trends and things to buy (it’s a problem, yes I am aware). Shoes are up there at the top of my list along with makeup. I recently found the company EGO Official, which I usually saw pop up across a popular Instagram account -> Aaliyah Jay. She was modeling the Ariana Perspex White Sandal With Glitter Heel and made them look like they were spun in heaven and dipped in diamonds! 

I HAD to have them! I headed over to the facebook page to do a bit a research and I couldn't take my eyes off the beautiful works of art! So I went ahead to their website and was greeted by a pop-up of 15% of my first purchase (they hooked me). Now I find myself scrolling through to their new Perspex section due to my need for new heels....cause its not like you can ever have enough! I thought they would go especially well with the outfits I don't seem to have any shoes for! So I quickly added them to my cart and checked out using PayPal, my go to.

negatinegatiFor me this is where things got hairy.... I didn't expect my shoes to be shipped out over the weekend so I patiently waited through the next week for a shipping notification containing a tracking number to allow me to religiously stalk my package until it gets here....Saturday comes & goes and nothing.... so i send an email to the ego help desk the following Monday, August 8th. I waited two days with no response, so on Wednesday I commented on a post that had been posted the same day stating I had sent an email and gotten no reply I wanted to see if my order had shipped and I left the order number. I Received a reply from the page and they explained the shoe wasn't in stock and was actually "pre-ordered" but they ensured me it was being sent out the same day and I would receive an email when it shipped. Well 7 o'clock EST passes on Friday August 14th and I still have NOT received a shipping email! The next day I sent the Ego FB page a private message with screen shots of my other encounters with this awful customer service. I explain how I am not happy and this is ridiculous... To my pleasure they offered a shipping refund and again assured me that my item was being shipped out. That tamed my flame.... for the time being. I did receive my refund via PayPal the same day.

I finally received an email on Wednesday and received my shoes from USPS the following Wednesday.

The box comes in a cute little sealed shopping bag. The shoes themselves are TO-DIE-FOR! Not to mention they are affordable compared to places like Charlotte Russe & Kohls, and great quality. 

This model shoe is not the easiest to walk in, not even for a seasoned heel veteran like myself. Despite my seemingly unsuccessful buying attempt I will be trying again! Of course I love the shoe so I thought "I'll get some that are easier to walk in...." so I made another purchase for these bad boys on Friday, September 30th.
